This was beautiful fall day
This a south west of Portland Oregon. On the Banks to Vernonia rail to trail about a 18 mile out and back. Sunday 10/26/08. 70 degrees blue skies. It was a great day an Autumn ride.
Please add your own pics to the thread. It would be nice to see fall colors from other parts of the country.

That looks nice! Good idea to post the fall photos it's my favorite season. Here's a few from a ride up in BC a couple weeks ago. North of Nakusp there is a free ferry that crosses Arrow Lake. We rode up there, took the ferry across and made our lunch on the beach on the other side. Senor Jalapeno is a rock stack on the beach at Halcyon Hot Springs.

These were all taken a couple weeks ago up around the Yellowstone/Grand Teton area. We're now farther south in Moab and there are a few patches of bright yellow trees - but they all seem to have phone lines passing through so we haven't taken photos of them.

Nancy, thanks for posting. I've been following your blog - great site, great story.
If I'm not mistaken, the tandem you're riding is from Rodriguez in Seattle, right?

Yellowstone is beautiful. Nancy what wonderful adventure! I'll follow along on your web site. Thanks for sharing.
I am sure there must be other touring folk out there that could add pic to this post.

Yes - our tandem is a Rodriguez. It seems to be holding up fine except for the rims!!

Snoqualmie Valley Trail
I posted this on another forum on saturday.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snoqual...Regional_Trail
Taking advantage of a dry morning predicted by the forecasters, I rode my Yo Eddy (MTB) on a 50 mile spin fest on the unpaved Snoqualmie Valley Trail which borders the neighborhood I live in just east of North Bend. I had never been on the trail north of the Reining Bridge before but riding home from work the other day, I found the trailhead off of Tokul road so Saturday was the day to explore the northern end of this trail.
The temparature was warm and gusty which forced many of the Maples along the route to give up their leaves and they slowly drifted down like snowflakes as I rode along on a yellow leaf carpet many inches thick. Originally I thought of turning around in Carnation but that came and went all too soon. What the heck! Go on to Duvall. Along the way, some hikers pointed out two bald eagles perched in a tree by the river looking for lunch. Rain started threatening on the return but yielded no more than an occasional drop. A headwind developed that got stronger the closer I got back to North Bend making my legs start to burn. Bend the elbows and drop low over the handlebars to reduce resistance and soon I am home. What a nice ride and a very different experience from riding the route on paved roads with the Merlin (road bike). No cars, very few people, even fewer cyclists. Quality time for a ride. Yes, nothing technical about it but sometimes it's nice to get on the bike and spin for a few hours and it sure was pretty. The rain started to pick up only after I had washed and put away my bike how cool is that?
