DOH! - I fell like a sack of potatoes this morning!

I should have known better! I noticed that my driveway was slick this morning when I took the garbage cans to the curb. I noticed that the DOT trucks were sanding and salting the roads on my commute in to work this morning. I turned into a private community near the end of my commute to work. Well, they don't have town trucks taking care of their private roads. I made a right-hand turn, and before I even realized what was going on, my bike went out from under me and I was skidding along the pavement on my right knee. Ouch, I almost forgot how much abrading the akin off my knee hurts.

I'm basically fine, a little sore. My handle bars were 90* askew. My pride is hurt worse than anything. I walked the last 1/2 mile or so to work. I could have rode, but it felt good to walk it off.

I'll be putting the studded tires on faster than I planned.

Bikes: C'Dale - R1000, XR7, Rize3, F600 and a couple others...

My Nokians were slow this AM but they did trick, it's strange going over ice patches and having traction...

Agreed, I put my Marathons on this week end and it was 40 Monday and Tuesday and then slush and ice this morning, was so glad they were on...

Just watch that the knee doesn't get infected, change the bandage often! Had too many of those abraded knees growing up from playing football in the street

Thanks. Yes, I cleaned up with soap and water, then cracked open the company first-aid kit, and cleaned it some more with antiseptic & covered it with a few band aids. I taped the inside of my pants so that it didn't look quite as bad (closed the gaping hole). But the blood that soaked through the pant leg has people talking.

I guess I've been inaugurated. This is the first wipe-out I've had in thousands of miles .
