Maybe I'm just a total a-hole...well we all know I AM a total a-hole but still. Team in Training people drive me nuts, when I see them half the time they're doing the stupidest ****. Who knows maybe this is an LA issue but do TNT people perform epic fails daily in your area? Nothing worse than philanthropic freds.

I sometimes run into them doing stretches or giving pep talks on the Huntington Beach bike path near Sunset Beach. For some reason they seem to always take the entire path and disrupt anybody attempting to jog, cycle or do anything else.

At the Rose Bowl they have strict rules that the runners run in a certain direction the TNT ppl will get out there and go in the wrong direction...they just seem to have this idea that they can do what they want. I had one of their idiots yesterday pull a u turn in front of me with no notice. Some people just need to fight deadly diseases off the bike.

Just be careful around them. Some of them are total beginners.

Most of them are total beginners, and among the many problems with TNT is that their runners/bikers/etc. never learn the rules of their sport. TNT keeps them too busy with happy-talk and phony motivational (I'm OK, you're OK) crap.

The TNT people around here are pretty dangerous, too. Not only do the cyclists ignore common sense road safety (like keeping to the right and stopping at stop signs), but their cheerleaders are dangerous, too. They park their cars on narrow roads, often illegally and unsafely. And they set up refreshment stops in places that encourage the cyclists to stop in the middle of the road.
They really need to be teaching and enforcing road safety before they start on their endurance training.

why no tbe proactive and write to TNT all of the points where you believe they could make their teams and groups smarter riders with better road etiquette. the results of that may be better than ranting on BF.
just a though.

They show up at cycling events, centuries, etc. A lot of them are new at it. It's a cool deal for them, they get coaching, training, and support. At the end of the ride they have a cheering section.

Team in Training, or disease riders...
Yeah, they're really pretty clueless, the runners more than any other bunch. Which part of "on your left" is so confusing?

Team in Training is basically a non profit group that you pay into and agree to raise a certain amount of money for. The money goes to fighting leukemia I believe and then in turn you enter certain events under the Team in Training name. The problem lies in that they tell people you can basically show up being a total lazy ass with no talent and we'll train you to be able to run or walk a marathon or half marathon, ride a century, or do a triathlon. They provide team training and support, so subsequently you get these groups of noobs that get together and ride unsafely in massive packs. Some of them get pretty cocky too.
I went to one of their meetings once to look into triathlons, they wanted something like a $150 upfront and then a promise that I would raise $2500. It felt like a weird sports pyramid plan lol.

From this picture, it looks like they have that same brainwashed rah-rah cheer that they had at Jonestown, before they drank the Kool-Aid.
