New in bos Bridgestone RB-1 on Ebay
Looks like the C&V version of the garage find. Not my auction and not my size but this looks like a museum piece
https://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-BRIDGEST...QQcmdZViewItem.
I wonder what it will go for? I hope one of you all get it and post pictures of it all built up.

Still a pretty good deal at $605, current price. Can't find a decent road bike new for that.
And my size, and I've always wanted an RB-1.
I know afilado is out there saying, "go for it, RobbieTunes."
Just not now, darn it.

That looks nice but, it would be even better if it were yellow.
RB-1's should be yellow
and
MB-1's should be white,
Pinarellos should be Cromonero,
Merckxs should be orange,
Gios' should be blue,
etc....

He has a Bridgestone 700, too. It's not a collector bike, but it's my size and my price range. I may take a crack at it. It's near my sister. I wonder if she still has her truck?

Bikes: '93 Bridgestone RB-1, '91 Specialized Allez Epic, '85 Raleigh Team Pro, '78 Andre Bertin, early '90s F. Moser Leader AX , '85 Centurion Equipe, '98 Litespeed Tuscany, '89 Klein Quantum, '80 Nishiki Superbe, '83 Peckham, '84 Fuji Opus III
Unless you gotta have a NOS example, there are better deals to be had on the RB-1. In these times.
In 2008 several examples of high quality, relatively complete and original bikes of various sizes sold in a range of $800-1000. One I remember went for $1196. Add shipping to all of them.
Lately - last six months or so - they ( complete bikes) are selling in $500-700 range with as many frames as full bikes showing up. Fine frames constitute the greater portion of the expense of acquiring full bikes.
The usual Shimano components do not make the same kind of contribution to price as does Campy in the case of like quality European bikes. Dura Ace upsets that declaration a bit but I don't see many so equipped. Usually Ultegra/600 level or even 105.
Size and color seem to make more difference in the value of the RB-1 relative to European bikes. The yellow is the king.
I'll be both surprised and disappointed if this bike sells for less than $1000. There are 18 bids from about 12-14 bidders. Could get exciting.
My 57.5 cm yellow 1993 is near mint and I've been waiting for the market to return before offering it for a minimum of that figure.
In better times this Ebay bike could possibly approach $1500. Amazing to consider that but it's inevitable.
The times are bringing a better regard for the value of the finer Japanese bikes. They WILL increase in value. They're too good.
Regardless of one's opinion of Grant Peterson or Japanese bike, the RB-1 deserves to be mentioned among the legendary and the best. It is a real thoroughbred in all respects.
So, Robbie, bargain hunter that you are, I know when you turn your real attention to finding one for yourself it'll be on much better terms than this. Patience pays.

Well, I guess I'm taking over for you this week - I missed out on Rabid Koala's Burgundy Paramount frameset on eBay by $25 bucks. My max, $405, sold for $425.
Can't tell you how bummed I am over that one. My turn to feel like poo (and I haven't had a trash pile find since 2007 either - or a yard sale find since mid '08. Granted, I really have not been putting any effort into looking...).

Looks like an '88.
This yellow one has been for sale for a long time at $1300.

The 700 went for 330+ shipping, which I don't think is too much for a nice new frame with decent components.
