and for your information, no you can't typically those wheels are engineered with a specific width and dimension. For instance the point at which those wheels are going to converge in the center is meant for the spacing of a rear road, not a front track.

why is it not track related? Those wheels are no longer legal on the road for mass starts, but are on the track (and are quite common)- there have been other threads on them in here.
Depending on the version you can convert a rear to a front just by changing the axle. I just did it a couple weeks ago when I finally killed my front tri-spoke in a crash. The pair are so old they're labeled "Specialized". At least from that era, the front and rear are identical except for the axle. To convert a rear to a front you just unscrew the track adapter, take out the axle, and put in a front axle.

Surly Fixxer, allegedly, to convert a Shimano cassette hub to a fixed gear hub. However, I've also been told certain older TriSpokes are not compatible with the Fixxer. I've been thinking of getting one to try on my wheel which is supposedly not compatible.

If it's a rear freewheel variety, all you need to do is remove the freewheel and replace the axel with a 100mm variety. Center everything and you're done. If it's a freehub, then it can't be done.

Thanx! for the info, it seems that hed still produces the axle.
I'm in Italy and the english prices are pretty high, so... since in Italy we speak euro i found the Hed distributor in spain with nicer prices and photos of the products. Already ordered the Axle!
As soon as i finish, i will put some photo steps of my conversion.
