I had a lot of fun at last year's inaugural April Twenty Observed International Oddball Ride, and I think a lot of others did, as well. It was the biggest turnout I've seen at a ride.

Recumbents! Foldies! C&V'ers! Unis! Tallbikers! Hybrid-riders! Tarckies! BMXers! Commuters! Mountain bikers! Oddballs of all color, shape, and creed! Who's up for a second go of this?

Like last time, this should be a flat, slowish ride to accommodate the wide variety of bikes in attendance.
At this point, it looks like the weekends of April 11-12 and May 9-10 are the most open, calendar-wise, though I'm certainly open for suggestion.

What sayeth thou?

Count me in! Either date is fine as long as we book it early enough to plan around it.

The tough part will be deciding which one of my oddball bikes to ride???

I have the Copperopolis RR on the 11th, so the 12th is good for me. I put dropbars and a new wheelset on my fixed gear so I'll (try and) follow Pete.

I'm interested. Will definitely show up if it works with my schedule. So far I'm favoring the April 12 date

That's three votes for April 12. Any objections?

Kidding. I'm guessing such a date would limit attendance. Bummer.

Hmm, the weekend of April 25-26 might work. The Wildflower is on the 26th, but maybe the 25th?

Maybe the oddball ride could coincide with one of the Sunday Streets SF events?

From the web page:
Upcoming Sunday Streets Dates:
  • Sunday, April 26: Waterfront Route running along the Embarcadero–from AT&T Park to Aquatic Park.
  • Sunday, May 10: Waterfront Route in the Southeast Sector, highlighting the San Francisco Bay Trail, which is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in May. From AT&T Park to the Bayview Opera House, along the Bay.
  • Sunday, June 7: New route for 2009 through the Mission, engaging new neighborhoods in the Sunday Streets movement.
  • Sunday, July 19: New route for 2009 through the Mission, engaging new neighborhoods in the Sunday Streets movement.
  • Sunday, August 9: Great Highway Route. Connecting Golden Gate Park to the San Francisco Zoo, along Ocean Beach.
  • Sunday, Sept 6: Great Highway Route. Connecting Golden Gate Park to the San Francisco Zoo, along Ocean Beach.

Didn't see this thread earlier. Last year's Oddball was the ride I was most sorry I missed! And the craving for ever more oddness simply worsens.

x136 - speak to us.. the merry pranksters will gather.

Unless no dates work and we wait for next year.

*sigh*

How's the weekend of May 9/10 sound to everyone? Calendar looks fairly clear for that weekend. Is that enough forewarning? If not, maybe early June?

Even though May 9-10 is Mother's Day weekend, it may work for me. What's the route?
