NorCal East, Saturday 8/22
Another forum I'm a member of is doing a fun ride Saturday morning. Thought I'd see if anyone else is interested. So here's the plan...
It's a ride around Lake Folsom. The general route is ARBT to Iron Point. Left after the crest onto Empire Ranch. Right on Green Valley. Left on Salmon Falls to climb Pilot Hill. Right on Salmon Falls Cutoff to 49. Left on 49 to water stop. Continue on 49 to T intersection at Old Foresthill. Right on Old Foresthill for another good climb. Left at the top to Auburn, and a water stop if needed. Continue down to Auburn-Folsom for the ride back.
From where I'm picking up the ride, I think around 75 or 80 miles. Approx 5100 feet of climbing. Pace will likely be brisk on the flats at 17 +/-.
If anyone wants to come along, we need to be at the bike trail at Hagan Park in Rancho no later than 6:50am in order to hook up with the others. Early ride to beat the heat.
Interested?

I've done this ride three times, albeit we started in Lincoln for about 72 miles. Old Foresthill Rd is a killer late in the day. It sounds like you'll be too fast for me, but on our route there are no flats. Have fun.

Not many flats on this ride either. Once we get off the bike trail and start up Iron Point, the rest of the ride is either going up or down. And hopefully no one will experience any flats either, ok I know it wasn't funny.

I'm probably in. What time do you estimate you will be at the Aquatic Center?

Excellent VG! It'll be good to ride with you again. I'm guessing it'll be 7:15 to 7:20. Pending all sorts of variables of course.
