October 10, Foxy's Prep Ride

Some folks I ride with out here are planning to do this route on October 10. https://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united...25183912912770

Thought I'd go along. I was given the go ahead to post here and see if anyone else is interested in coming along. Should be a fun time.

We will meet at the Park & Ride lot in Winters on the corner of Railroad Ave and Main. Take Hwy 128 (Covell Blvd) from Davis; in Winters, turn left at Railroad Ave. We will DEPART by 8:30 am sharp! Please arrive no later than 8:15 am so we can leave on time.

Cue sheets will be available on site before leaving. Please RSVP here if you intend to go so I'll know how many are needed.

Lunch is tentatively planned for a Subway in Fairfield. If any of you have a better idea, please speak up!

At the moment, I'm planning to get there early for breakfast.

Who's interested?

I'd highly suggest taking Lyon Road at Cherry Glen when you there at Lagoon Valley. That will take you to Hilborn, then rt on Vista Grande, then rt on Waterman and rt on Abernathy. You really don't want to ride on Dover, North Texas or West Texas at all.

Another option is taking the linear park all the way to West Texas/Oliver/Rockville. You can get on the path at Dover right after you pass Air Base Parkway. It will take you all the way to Pennsylvania Ave. Where you'll have to go to the left and cross Travis and catch it again on the west side of Travis. That will take you all the way to the intersection at Rockville.

I like the first route better and that is what we ride when we head to Fairfield/Napa from Vacaville.

You really don't want to cross 80 at North Texas right now. The whole overcrossing is under construction-it's a real mess.

Neither of my two suggested routes take you near the Interchange, although they both go by on either side of the end of the work at both Lyon Road and Dover Road.
