Very early 80's Specialized Sequoia. 3Rensho?
I have a very early 80's Specialized Sequoia and I've heard that they were made by 3Rensho. It says Specialized on the downtube and Sequoia on the front of the top tube. On the chain stay it says Designed by Jim Neeson(?).
It has the long point lugs and chrome dropouts. All of the filing looks to have been done very well.
There is no serial number. Only the size is listed.
Any help?
Thanks!

Did you win this frame on ebay? There is one reference in a BF thread that they were indeed 3Rensho built...but only one. The poster claims Tim Neenan confirmed it: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/406759-early-1980-s-specialized-sequoia.html
Nice frames, regardless.

I was watching that frame with every intention of buying it, but the price went bit too high fro my liking, plus I already have an 84' in my size that needs some love.
A 56cm complete came up on craigslist and I couldn't resist the asking price. 225.00 complete with a TA Specialties crank set. It's in great condition and the frame is identical to the one on Ebay.
I'm going to try calling Specialized tomorrow to see if I can talk to someone who has been with the company for a long time. Thought I might ask on here as well.
Thanks!

Oh, and I've got an '83 with the chromed faces on the front and rear DOs, so that isn't necessarily an indicator. Mine doesn't have quite the lugwork found on the eogie or ebay examples, however, and mine has shorter chainstays.
