Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm looking to switch to a double crank on my road bike and it seems that there are alot of parts required to make this swap derailers, crank, bottom bracket, and possibly shifters. I was just wondering if anyone out there had a double setup that they'd like to switch for a triple. My bike has full 105 with about 100-150 miles on it as I just upgraded to this bike a couple months ago the parts are in great shape. The only way that this will be financially feasible for me is if I am able to trade components with someone. If youd like to trade let me know and we can work a deal i.e. 105 triple and cash for Ultegra Double or 105 triple for 105 double.

Also I hope it was ok to post this thread here I thought it would get more exposure to roadies here than in the marketplace

Excellent, With every step towards a double your conversion to the Dark side will be more complete.

Nice, Darth Vader.

Everest:
I don't have everything you're looking for, but I have a 105 double crank and bottom bracket.

Not enough to help you, but if you find those other parts we can talk.

You will not need to swap shifters. Triple shifters work fine with double.

All you need is BB, Crankset, Front and rear derailleurs.

I just did a triple to double conversion and was able to use my triple rear deraileur. I have not had any problems with using the triple RD on a double setup.

Yeah, but it still looks like a crutch no big time masher would be caught dead with.

I love to ride. I could care less what other cyclist or anybody else thinks or says about what I ride, how I ride or what I wear.
