Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? this one's for torrin (lucklust)

while reading all this stuff about torrin/lucklust, i figure he's a really good guy (i dont really know him). he did a lifecycle ride for aids patients and raised $2500. people on the forum kicked in, like thylacine, karstens, and mr[165]. we have had tons of people go down lately, and lots of people have thrown into many pots recently, and it makes me all happy and warm and fuzzy. thankfully, i havent gone down, and i am not asking for money (unless you want to donate!)

so this one's for torrin. i am signing up to do the 2005 ride for aids (https://www.rideforaids.org/), 170 miles in 2 days, raising $1000 over the next month. and i will be sporting my new thylacine jersey when i ride. if i hadnt read that old thread, i wouldnt have even thought about doing this. so lucklust has now helped to raise another $1k for AIDS/HIV even though he may not be able to read this.

thanks guys!

Kazang!!!! $225 - nearly a quarter of the way there. Come on, do you really need that new bartape? Of course! But steal it from your roomie. Pledge $5, $7.85, $25 (hint) it's all good. Cranking my challenge specifically to Canadian fixers. Hold off on one double-double a day for a week, you big wally, and pledge the cash.

Bikes: Thylacines...only Thylacines.

I won't have much cashola until next month, but I'll chip in then.

Or if someone from this list orders a fixie or singlespeed frame before then, I'll chip in a larger chunk from it's sale.

Cool?

I just pushed us over 600 (barely over, but over all the same ). My friend is in Florida for the lukemia/lymphoma triathalon right now. She impresses me because I helped her buy the first bike of her adult life this time last year, and today she's whupping ass on a triathalon. Mad props to the charity rides!

peace,
sam
