Pics of your fall commute

If you got em, show em!

The road in the first two is closed to motor vehicles. It only adds a couple minutes to my ride, but it is so peaceful and well worth it. Of course, around this time of year there are amazing sunrises. Yesterday (when these were taken) the sky was on fire. The leaves are changing. It's not peak yet, but will be soon.

Bikes: A light one, a heavy one, a yellow one and a rusty one.

Lucky. That is some nice terrain. These days, my commute is just pitch black.

So's my commute in. Wish I could take a pic of my mirror while riding. The trail goes by a park which is used to watch planes come in. Some mornings on the trail I will look in my mirror, and see a big headlight way in the distance and a while later a big passenger jet goes right by on my right to land on the airport across the road (BWI Airport).

Not as nice as a nature pic, but thrilling nonetheless. The first time I saw that headlight I wondered how in the heck a car got on the bike trail.

max-a-mill: nice action shot. Bigger one would make a nice wallpaper.

Well, being in southern Arizona my fall pics would look a lot like my summer pics. Maybe you could make out fewer heat waves coming off the pavement...

That's a wicked sweet Peugeot there Mirona. Is your pump still functional? I have mine, but the innards are shot.

Yea, my ride rocks. There's one pretty long road with no shoulder that seems to attract crappy drivers, but besides that it is rather quiet and not too bad to look at.

Yea, the pump still gives air. The previous owner was the only owner and really kept it in good shape. That reminds me... I need to get down to his house to thank him for the bike.

Anyway, here are a couple more from this week and last week:

Thanks. I had to call in a favor to move those clouds, so at least I know now that it was worth it!

Here are a few from today:

Okay, this last one is technically cheating because I had to go down a trail (which is right off my commute!) to get there, but it's still nice.

:edit: I know they look altered, but that is just how they look when I clicked the button.

How long is your commute on that trail? There's nothing like that around here, so I have to stick it out with the cars for limited real estate. At least the views are nice.

Oh, I passed a house that I've passed so many times before, but this time I noticed a guy riding this big model train around a track that wound through his yard! I didn't have my camera on me There was a covered bridge and everything!

mirona, I've been looking at those and thinking, man, that looks just like autumn in New England! I'm not too bright.

My commute looks more like slvoid's, just lower. (What the hell, dude, are you doing a high wire act all the way to work?) But when I've taken the dog out for a walk the last few days, I keep regretting not bringing the camera with me to shoot the trees in the park.

I went for a ride in the mountains in NH last weekend (brrr!) and regretted the whole time that I didn't have clear lenses in my glasses, even if the trees were mostly just one shade of orange.

I usually take the trail most of the way, about 3 miles, for my commute to work. I have to use it because the drivers here have difficulty knowing what to do with a bike on the road - especially when they are in a hurry to and from work - and the semi trucks' draft blasts about knock me over on the thin highways with no paved shoulders - they have to route along my path, at least until the freeway gets completed in a few months. The whole trail is now about 6 miles long. Plans are to extend the trail around the city, about 10 more miles I believe.

I know what you mean, temps here have been in the mid to low 20's most of this week during my morning commute.

Bikes: Windsor Fens, Giant Seek 0 (2014, Alfine 8 + discs)

On the ride home today, the trees were beautiful all along, on an overcast day. But at one point I crested a hill and just ahead of me was a copse of maples in full fiery color with a bright sunbeam lighting them up. It was really something nice.
I keep forgetting a camera.
