Nitto track stem
i want one, but i don't want to pay 90 bucks for one. Anyone selling one or know where i can get a used one for cheapers?
$90?
Dang...I have seen these for 50-60ish for AL models. Best to get the right extension. I had a 100mm, but it was too short. The 120mm on the Gan Well is treating me right so far. I just swung it from a bud for $20. Slap! |
most places sell the aluminum model for $60. it's definitely not as aesthetically appealing as the $140 (where do you see it for $90?) steel ones, but you know -- still get the deep drop, etc.
bikeworks usually has some old track parts around. give them call and see what they have - http://bikecult.com
i picked up a nice old used nitto steel track stem from them a while back in the $50 range. a few minor scratches, but otherwise great. |
Reload bags sells used Nitto track stems sometimes. Check their site.
Marcus at Yojimbo's has em for $80 or $90 I believe...
I just got an aluminum one from Business Cycles for 59.
Also, he is selling Steel Nitto 123 Bars at clearance for $38...get em while you can...100 bucks for the hot Bar & Stem can't be beat. |
world class has them for 59 as well.
I paid like 15 used on eBay. Don't let them playas make a b*tch outa ya.
spicer has em too for like 50 something bucks. spicercycles.com. jeez, i swear i sound like a spicer commercial, you'd think i was getting freebies or something from him.
Nothing like love for your OBS.
There was a nice threaded one all polished up waiting for me when I got to work one day last year. A guy I worked with just brought it in and left it for me. I was pretty happy.
I doubt deals like that happen too often. |
i know its not nitto.. but universal cycles in los angeles had a box of 3ttt stems on the counter.. i think they were 10-15 each.. i dunno.. its not nitto but i really like the 3ttts..just a random heads up

just a word about spicer (i dont work for them either). mr gene spicer is in the same class as iro tony, marcus, dw, thylacine, etc - he's a really good guy, and not many people offer service like him. his problem is he's in bfe, so online has to do. but he's very helpful and knowledgeable, and i like him lots. |
Just to go off of this. I was looking at the nitto stems and wanted to throw my profile bullhorns on. But, all the nittos are 25.4 and the profile as well as nitto bullhorns are 26. Anyone know of a similar shaped bullhorn that is not syntace that fits the nitto stem?
wait
..why dont nittos fit in nittos? |
The Nitto RB009 which comes in a 25.4 diameter fits in the Nitto stem. I know, because I just installed mine on my roommate's bike. Hope that helps.
25.4 is nitto's sizing for track bars, same as the old cinellis. Nitto bullhorns aren't made for track use.
Old Cinelli's were 26.4.
Sorry, I'll be more specific. Old steel cinelli track bars/stems which the nittos were modeled after, were 25.4mm.
