How big of a chainring will fit a pake frame?
If using a 111mm bottom bracket, can I use a 49 tooth chainring? Or am I limited to 46, 48 or ???
Been looking at the Campagnolo pista track crankset (comes w/ 49 tooth chainring) and BB, not sure if it will fit though. |
The Record Pista crankset comes with a wide selection of chainring sizes, not just 49t.
You should have no trouble fitting a 49t on a Pake frame if you're using the correct BB. |
Fair enough. Looks like the pista bb says "track use only". What exactly does that mean? That if I use it on the street daily it will have a short life? The veloce BB does not indicate track only...so.

Wherever you're reading that, the Pista BB is probably labeled "track only" because the 111mm spindle length may not be compatible with any of Campy's road cranks.
You can use any ISO square tapered BB having a spindle length of 111mm (or close) with that crankset, it doesn't need to be a Campy BB. For example, a Phil Wood 110.5mm ISO will also work just fine. |

The Campy Record Triple BB has a carbon center too, so there goes that theory.
