Track Build Help

I've been riding fixed for a little over a year now and I'm coming into a decent amount of money so I'm planning on putting together a build to satisfy my N+1 itch. The main focus of the build is to have a decent track bike for me to start get my feet wet riding and racing on the velodrome. I also plan on riding it and training occasionally on the road for when I don't want to ride my current bike, which is a beater. I have a budget of between $1,500-2,000 but would like to keep it on the lower end of that. I do not wan to go with a complete so I can spread the financial load out over the next 6 months and end up with something personal to me. I would appreciate some input on the components and the overall build. As far as the frame is concerned I don't care about the material but want it to be a suitable track frame and my budget for it is $500 so I can allocate more money to other components. Thanks for the help and input!

Frame:

Factory Five F550 raw - $300

All City Big Block - $500

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:

SRAM Omnium/SRAM GXP - $200

Pedals:

Speedplay - $100

Shimano R550 SPD-SL - $70

Chainring/Cog/Chain:

Sugino Zen track chainring 48t/Dura Ace 16t/Izumi Super Toughness- $155/$30/$82

Saddle/Seatpost: Fi'zi:k Arione/Thompson Elite seatpost - $132/$80

Handlebars/Stem: Deda Pista bars/3T ARX II stem - $70/$60

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire: H+Son SL42/Dura Ace 7600/ Continental Grand Prix 4000S II Road Tyre - 23c PAIR - $450/$94

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire: H+Son SL42/Dura Ace 7600/ Continental - Both prices included above

I built up an All City big block with the following parts within your budget

Wheels: H plus Son tb14- fomulas
Seat: Specialized toupe
Post- Thomson
Crank- Omnium
Headset- FSA Orbit
Pedals- All City
Tires- Panracer pasela
Stem- some FSA part
Bars- Fixation Pursuit bar
Chain- KMC
Cog- I dont remember, either All city or Surly.

I thoroughly enjoy it and consider it money well spent!

Yea, I've been going through r/fgb for awhile and just putting the finishing touches. I guess the only things I'm left wondering with is whether those frame are decent enough track frames since I've seen everything else get plenty of positive attention or used commonly by experienced track racers. Well that and if the fact that the Dura Ace hubs aren't sealed bearings really matters much considering their performance (i.e. there's no dust/dirt on the track to worry about sealed bearings) for street use?

carleton maybe you should move this to the Track Racing Forum. Seems only fair that we should have some going the other way occasionally.

Pretty sure the Factory Five that you are talking about is actually a rebranded Colossi frame but I could be wrong...

Al Colossione ? Colossi.us

Yea I'm actually looking at the Colossi now and have been receiving a lot of feedback on this post. https://www.******.com/r/FixedGearBi...ck_build_help/ What are the thoughts on their comments?

That link goes nowhere.

You are correct.

Colossi frames are awesome. Your link goes nowhere because there's obviously a censored word in there.

edit: Why the hell is 'r-e-d-d-i-t' censored?

I've been wondering that for a while. Might be because there is NSFW content on the site, if you go to the wrong(right?) places.

'pornhub.com' and 'bangbros' isn't censored though? Hmmmmmm......

I do not know how close/far you are from a velodrome, I have a lot of racing experience on tracks, but I" think that before you put a bunch of money/effort into a new track bike, wouldn't it make sense to figure out if you even like the velodrome program / or and even like track racing first? For instance I originally liked racing and liked racing at Hellyer in San Jose because the program was good, but I moved to San Diego, to find that I still loved racing, but driving all the way down to the track to do only two, or if you were lucky three heats seemed silly compared to the program at Hellyer.
