Single speeds growing on me :)
For years I rode bikes, I bought cheap and fixed up. Mostly geared bikes . When I finally bought a good bike, used but like new. I wasn't sure on a single speed But I figured if I didn't like it, at $300 for a like new steamroller I could get my money back (No it's not for sale) Now 3 years later I find my self grabbing a S.S. more than a geared bike . And as of today single speeds out number geared bikes ( got a box from Bikesdirect
) 2 of my 3 single speeds are not the common bike on this sub forum but single speed non the less
I don't ride as much a most here , but I ride more than 90% of the people out there. I am between 400-500 miles this summer. People that I work with that do ride seem surprised that I ride single speeds . Is it just the single speed thing it's self, or is it the fact I am 53 5'11" and 310 lbs and ride a single speed?
Doesn't matter what people think I enjoy the simplicity of one gear

This one fits right in here Surly steamroller

not as many into this type bike but I love it, puts a smile on my face Electra loft 1 nickel plated

Contents of bikesdirect box single speed fatbike first bike with disc brake

I have a Surly long haul trucker and an old Univega mountain bike for geared bikes
I have 2 or 3 other "tinker" bikes around but they are destine for donation to needy once I get them right

43, 6'0" and about 210lbs. I have 3251 miles so far this year between all of my bikes. 2469 are on a fixed gear, 38 on a single speed mountain bike I just got and the rest are geared miles.
