Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? It was even discussed about this time of year, as well. Must be the weather.

How tragic! I think you need to practice in a safe controlled environment. Maybe you could start on some rollers in your home, then work your way outside? Baby steps. Some tuna casserole will help as well. Just because your bike is a low emissions vehicle doesn't mean it should be completely emissions free.

i can fart fine on my fixie. just ask those who have ridden behind me.

it's like a double stealth attack. you know the "silent but deadly" types? combine that with a the stealthness of a fixie and you are a weapon of ass destruction on wheels.

Well most Fixies ride very fast and dogde around so catching one is tough plus if they know what your trying to do they will split or throw something at you or in your spokes

i'm a habitual crop duster. all that pedal pushing must be churning something in my bowels. i've never let one off that someone's actually noticed though. something to aim for.

Relax your ass, then let it rip. Make sure its a fart tho. On another note, I know someone who swears up and down they sucked in a nasty fart in their mouth from some fat dude while riding and threw up. Gave me a chuckle.

Can't say it's ever posed a problem for me. That said, stop lights do provide a nice opportunity to de-pressurize.

you are right - some things are best enjoyed standing still, or at least coasting while turned downwind and preferably at the back of the bunch. i seriously doubt that it would be possible to strain the spuds on FG so it was a thought in jest :-)

cheers

marty.

you might have hit upon bikeordie's problem.
you can't really fart _on_ it. that would be somewhat like trying to breath through your mouth with your hand over it. you'd suffocate like that. you have to lift your bugle and point it somewhere else. you take that barking spider and you send it - behind, to the side, wherever - but you dont plant it on the saddle.

Hah, I've been thinking about this all day...I'm pretty sure that it totally depends on your saddle. For instance, my Arione is terrible for trying to squeeze one out, always have to stand out of the saddle at least at inch. Maybe I'll try leaning.
