A superb choice.

Pope, is that the Ritchey you're refering to?

daveIT 05-03-05 01:52 PM

I saw a Ritchey Pro in the latest Nashbar with -17 rise. Forget the price...left the catalog at work.

Yes, the WCS, although with a shim for a one inch steerer. I use it with Bontrager bullhorns. Super light with a 6 degree rise or drop and very stiff. Picked it up at Excel:

that ritchey stem is intriguing. usually i want to flush ritchey stuff down the break-away toilet.

is there any benifit in 1 1/8" headtubes compared to 1" headtubes?

Why did they ever make this difference?

Make that a 'mustached born again christian' who thinks the bolts are 'oppossing', not 'opposing'.
And the cut is 'assymetrical' not 'asymmetrical'. :)

Will,

I'd recommend the WCS except 'Ol Tommy boy will donate some of the funds to some Christian group which I'm not down with. The new Thomson stems are very nice looking bits of gear and are worth the bucks. Most road specific stems from many of the Euro makers on the other hand are generally too expensive for what you get.

You'd also want, say, a minus 6 degree stem flipped over with your frame, as that's what it was designed for. Either that or a 0/90deg stem, which would look hot.

In addition to Ritchey, Bontrager has some -17 degree stems that are on par with Ritchey stems. I have Bontrager Select that works beautifully with the non-lugged frame.
