Cervelo S1 ---> Fixed gear

Hello all, just hoping to get some input on this...

I have a 2010 totally stock Cervelo S1 (aluminum) that a colleague has suggested that instead of selling, I convert to a fixie/SS. I've always liked the idea of trying out a fixie/SS, and I think I'm going to do it. Admittedly, I had zero idea that there was so much involved in the process.

Here is what I'm looking at doing...

Crankset - SRAM S300 1.1 with BB
Brake levers - For consistency (and perhaps ease of selling the 6600SL grouppo) SRAM S500
Hub - WI ENO SS/Fixed Hub + cog
Wheels - Hoping to swap rear hubs on a take off pair of Shamino RS010's (that I've never used). The rear is only 24 spoke, hub from what I've read it's possible with the 32 or 36 hole hub. I'm about 150lbs, so weight shouldn't play a factor. The S1 should take 25mm tires, so I'm going to try that. I will be getting the wheel professionally put together.
Brakes - I'm keeping both stock brakes for now.

I live downtown in a large city with a lot of people and stop and go traffic. Generally it's pretty flat, so I think a 48-18 will be fine for now. This bike will be a commuter/dicking around bike. I have another geared carbon road bike for more "traditional" riding.

This set up is basically at the max of my budget for the conversion. I'm still reading about chain lines and with this set up it appears it's a 42 in the front and 47.5 in the back. I'm not sure if this is a big deal, an easy fix with this set up, or perhaps other another setup would be better.

I'd appreciate the feedback.

It looks like you'd be working with vertical dropouts, so ss/fixed is out of the question.

Shoot...I didn't realize WI made a hub for vertical dropouts. Carry on...

Your project sounds very do-able and would produce a very snappy machine compared to my distinctly Old School one.
"Back when" it was normal to convert the "old" road bike to FG status when a new shiny race bike replaced it, good to see it happening again.

A quality lightweight road bike converted to FG, brakes and all, is an excellent choice for riding (of all places) on the open public roads.

The Eno is a great hub. I think it's only available in 28, 32 and 36 hole though so reusing your 24 hole will be out. Also fitting a rear brake can be a challenge with the eccentric axle. You will have two positions that the hub can be for each chain length. Either above or below the center Your rim may rub the brake arm in the above position so the lower may be your only choice. It might be to far a reach for the pads.
