Lots of places to post this, but I'll start here. This is v1 of my steamroller. Had to make some compromises in the build today, I had an interesting issue where I was in-between links - one in either direction and I'd rub on the downtube/be half out of the fork end. Weird. So I have to put a smaller cog on and the result is a little heavier pedal than I was hoping for.
Also I threw on this old white saddle I had from a State bicycle I had eons ago for fun, and I actually like the way it looks. I was originally planning on putting my black turbo saddle on for the time being, but I like the white so I may invest in a white supercorsa or similar. Let me know if you have one for sale.
Still fiddling with the stem position, not sure if I made the right call with the +/-17 degree stem, but it feels right for now. I am going to build a coaster brake wheelset for this eventually, but overall I am really happy with the way it turned out. Fire away!

haha..yeah. I usually use duct tape or really thin aluminum foil tape cut into shapes. The aluminum tape bulges/contracts while riding and resonates like someone taping on a bass drum...that combined with the WRRRR WRRRR WRRRR of the disc makes an interesting combination. I need to attach a harmonica to the brake bridge and start my own band.

I know your pain. I have my rear axle about half out of my fork end, and when I'm set up for CX (obviously not ideal) but it hasn't been an issue at all and allows for tons of clearance at the brake.
Alternatively, you could run 32's and probably be ok at the seat tube I suppose.

I totally dig your Roller, and wouldn't change a thing. Even the valve caps look good on it.

The dropouts are very short on that frame, so a full link may be too much. A half link may be all that is needed.

The bike looks great, BTW.

Does anyone know the story on why wabi switched the lightening frames from aluminum to steel? I've always wondered.

I think there were complaints that the thinwalled tubing on the Scandium frames dented too easily, although I've never had any problems with mine.

Some items of sports equipment, which rely on high performance materials, have been made with scandium-aluminium alloys, including baseball bats[34] and bicycle frames and components.[35] Lacrosse sticks are also made with scandium. The American firearm manufacturing company, Smith & Wesson, produces revolvers with frames of scandium alloy and cylinders of titanium or carbon steel.[36][37]"
0.1-0.5% seems like marketing to me, but I'm not a metallurgist.

"The main application of scandium by weight is in aluminium-scandium alloys for minor aerospace industry components. These alloys contain between 0.1% and 0.5% of scandium. They were used in the Russian military aircraft, specifically the MiG-21 and MiG-29.[31]

Fresh Garbage
The addition of scandium to aluminium limits the grain growth in the heat zone of welded aluminium components

Thanks Scrod! Couldn't have done it without you!
Well - you know what I mean. I will likely stick with the standard Shimano coaster hub.

I'm still aware that the Universe doesn't always spin in the direction we want, but unless the bike sells to someone else before next weekend, the seller turns out to be a serial killer, or the frame has some damage I cannot see in the photos, I'm almost certainly going to be buying this frame next weekend.
I'm not a fixie road rider at all, but I've been taking track classes and will start racing at the San Diego velodrome with it. I had no idea what a roadie rut I was in before riding on the track. My goal when riding and training was always the sub-5 century, where one always rides for hours & hours in the amber/pink zone*, but these flying 200's, pursuits, and other reindeer games have put me deeper in the red than I've gone since I was racing kermesses in Benelux back in the late 80's early 90's. I always thought I had decent muscle tone in my legs, but my badly pulled glutes and hamstrings are still a little sore after FOUR DAYS.
I resisted the track for nearly two decades now because I never got the point of going round-n-round like a bunch of Nascar hillbillies. But my GF finally nagged me into trying the track with her, and I've discovered it's a lot more nuanced, colorful and fun than I could have imagined. I'm so excited to build up our bikes and to make this a part of our lives. It's just the neatest thing and I had no idea.
*and I love that someone in the track forum has the signature: "Roadies can ride tempo all day long because that's what humans have evolved to do; if you want to be more like a cheetah, lay around and lick your paws more."

Such a sick bike! What are those bars btw?

Still fiddling with the stem position, not sure if I made the right call with the +/-17 degree stem, but it feels right for now. I am going to build a coaster brake wheelset for this eventually, but overall I am really happy with the way it turned out. Fire away!
