Crosstar.... ?
1st post here.

bike is shipped from china so I'm guessing some generic stuff all around. |
The only good things on that bike are the bars and stem assuming they are actual Mash and Cinelli stuff and not "Cinerri" knock-off and I guess the tires are semi decent.
I wouldn't want to ride that thing and I could probably find those parts for much cheaper than buying the bike for those parts. |

I doubt the bars are genuine Cinelli. |

Recently I have noticed that I don't need to take Viagra anymore since this bike has been in my possession. If you live at or near my town please make sure not to buy this bike. Did we loose the OP?
As far as the original bike posted, 1.6 kg for the frame isn't bad for an aluminium frame... I think. Does that include the fork? Reading the Q&A, the bike is listed at 11 kilos, putting it at about 24.2 lbs. A little heavier than I would expect, but not too bad. I think I would probably choose a spoked wheel instead. The crankset can't be that bad. It appears to be a typical 130 bcd with a removable aluminum ring. Where does "vintage" come in? I'm a bit mixed. I've been riding the same bike for the last 30+ years. But, perhaps a bike doesn't have to be a forever bike. Nonetheless you could think of this as having some of the basic building blocks which you could change out later if you wish. You could also just buy the bare frame and build to your own specs. |

I bought a Crosstar frameset back in 2014 off eBay. Unbadged, it cost me$160, shipped. It took a bit to arrive (expected) but had a lightly crushed headtube upon unboxing. The manufacturer offered me half back and I keep the frame, which I accepted. I was able to press the damage out and build it. The stem and headset provided were ****, so those got donated. I used the frameset heavily for messenger work here in Columbus. Never had any major complaint except my Campy headset would not keep tension. This past January, the front end started feeling squishy, so I swapped forks and headset out. Today I went to clean the old forks for reuse and discovered a crack starting ¼" from crown face brake hole, continuing up the face, around the junction of the crown and steertube, all the way around to the other side and down the face ending opposite of where it started...found the 'squish'. Frame is still holding up to abuse though. Even with the damaged headtube. I wouldn't exactly recommend it, but I had a fair experience with the manf. and knew it was a cheapo and might be a problem.http:// www.instagram.com/p/9WYAj-hd9F/

So I was just at a bike swap yesterday and stupid me I bought what I thought was Leader 725. Instead it was a Crosstar 725. Same colorway as a Leader too. Leader frames being ****y aside, what the Hell is Crossstar and how do they get away looking just like Leader and even using the 725 insignia?
