^^^ The only problem I see with that setup is that once you install the cranks and pedals, the pedal will get scratched up as it rubs against the stone. But I agree that it's a nice objet d'art.

It actually doesn't at all. It holds the bike out far enough from the wall that nothing touches, not even my bars. So that's also something to be mindful of, it does stick out a bit. I'll get a better pic when I get home. But for $6 and a few wall anchors, can't beat it. Plus, it folds up flat against the wall when the bike isn't on it.

He's right - it works fine. It is what I use & had mentioned earlier ;)

I didn't mind drilling into the wall/stud and use a couple of these - not pretty but how can you beat it for only $6 at Home Depots?

Here's the full bike hanging. The bars and pedals are still about 3-4 inches from the wall.

I use this too in my garage. I also have one of those hooks that hang the bike by the back wheel.

I used to have two of those hooks in my garage at my last place so I could just hang the bike upside down by the rims. No garage anymore, though. :(

Hopefully the next place has a garage.

Soooooo... Yeah, hey fellas. If you're going to mount your bicycle hanging apparatus, especially on stone, be sure to use proper anchors. Mine just ripped out of the top hole (bike is fine, the bottom anchor held). I was using what appear to be drywall anchors rather than stone anchors. :P
