O.T. What are you eating? (AKA the burrito thread)

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I love huckleberries. Huckleberries don't grow in bunches. They are also fragile. They are also BEAR magnets. For those and some other reasons, they are very difficult and time consuming to harvest. No machines. All by hand, one berry at a time. Because of that, they are stupidly expensive. They are sold by liquid volume measurements, a pint weighing about a pound. A gallon of berries runs about $100.00.

Yesterday was my birthday and I was given a little more than a quart, about two pounds of fresh picked wild ones. I froze them.

Right now I am having a huckleberry smoothie. Just berries and milk. Thick as heck. And it's the most PURPLE thing I've ever seen in my life.

Most tasty.

Yum.

I'm not a huge Tombstone fan, but they had some weird new varieties that caught my eye at the store tonight. Was a hard decision between the reuben and the loaded baked potato pizzas.

Temps are dropping and time for cool weather food. Today I made mashed butternut squash.

Peeled, steamed, mashed with a little butter, milk and nutmeg. The house smells amazing. Dirt cheap too.
