What are your opinions on this crankset?

Prowheel Integrated crankset Chain Wheel 48T tooth plate Single speed bike Fixed Gear crankset for 412 crankset-in Bicycle Crank & Chainwheel from Sports & Entertainment on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group (from AliExpress Android) I have been eyeballing this crankset for a while and it seems to look similar to a omnium with that hollowtech spindle design. For $40 That seems too cheap to be true. Of course I doubt It would be on par with the omniun crankset in terms of quality, but would it seem like a good cheap alternative to my standard square tapered crankset cause I want to shave some weight off my bike. |
Would not buy.

Also, the crankset you linked to looks like it sucks. |
Also, it has a steel chainring, so it will not be very lightweight anyway.
|
Yes! that its true price. Crank aluminium, but chainring it steel. I mean nice price
|
I dont have much money to buy bling components, Its just $40 I wont care if it breaks or anything goes wrong I just want to experiment on how it compares to the one I use.

If you don't have much money, you should save your money and buy something that's worth your money.

It was a typo, I searched for several other sellers of the same product and they all say it has an aluminum chainring and it has a claimed weight of 901g including the BB.

Is this for the same 32lbs sled you were thinking of buying a new wheelset for?
http://www.bikeforums.net/general-cy...set-worth.html If so going to have to go with the why don't you just sell it and buy another bike option. |
I knew it was going to be garbage before I even opened the link but to be fair I decided to look at it first just to make sure and I was correct. I wouldn't waste my money on no-name crap. Being cheap usually doesn't work out because it ends in expensive headaches on down the line. You want components on your bike to give you some piece of mind and if you are perusing no-name stuff and can't find anything on it, it makes more sense to just stay away than ask questions about it.
When looking at ketchup spend an extra buck or two and get something decent rather than trying to go with Number One USA Happy Merica Brand Tomato Flavor Red Sauce Product which you found on some random website. Sure they may look the same but one is more likely to taste good and the other is likely to give you intestinal parasites and contain more crap than a terlit! |
