I keep putting things like this in the Jackass Thread that are Awesome but are probably not great forms of transportation but this is too awesome for the jackass thread so I'm starting a new thread.

Lol, saw that yesterday. My sadistic side kept wanting him to hit a bump.

TMonk 08-25-16 03:12 PM

lol. aero, apparently it's a thing.

hairnet 08-25-16 05:20 PM

I wouldnt want to ride anywhere near a dude doing **** like that and going brakeless. But I am impressed how fast he got back in the pedals, I know how hard that can be.

prooftheory 08-25-16 05:27 PM

He ends up doing some sort of ted shredding thing to slow down enough to get his feet back on.

I really only thought the aero was the cool thing. I'm also not sure I approve of scooter drivers using two hands to take pictures.

Regulatori 08-25-16 05:44 PM

Yeah, I once unclipped on a gradual downhill to remove a rock from my shoe...and then proceeded to almost **** myself trying to clip back in after picking up speed with my 65 GI.

My son has a SS trike & I have no truck! Here's my jack idea that worked out awesomely:Well, I couldn't upload them in order, but you get the idea.

Ha. I feel like the rules about not posting your own stuff or other members stuff shouldn't apply in this thread. Good job.

I'm not convinced of that. Whenever you start thinking about adding dimensional lumber to ANY vehicle, jackass is the first thing that comes to my mind!

^^

That's the world speed record bike. She pedaled the thing 147 MPH.

488 gear inches. Think about that for a second...

I'm with ya. I built a wood headache rack for my truck and can't decide if it's craftsmanlike awesome or just ****ing ghetto. It's not bolted-together 2 by material but wood on a car generally just looks weird somehow...

I couldn't bring myself to put this in the JA thread...

It's so low that poor girl is a goner if she hits a pebble. :/ I'd like to know how the wheels work, too (pin bearings? really big balls?). This clip isn't clear enough for me to see how smoothly they're rolling, though.

I'm certain that I'm jaded, because it's an amazing feat, but the fact that it's motorpaced kinda bummed me.

Do you think someone could ride 147 MPH without being motorpaced?

Nope. Not even close. Did you miss the part where I said that I was "jaded"? :)

But I like these guys...

Aerovelo Eta: Recumbent bike shaped like a bullet sets human-powered speed world record

José Meiffret pedaled a bike 80+ MPH at the velodrome and crashed. The newspapers said he had died. He later pedaled a bike 127MPH. After that he became a Trappist monk.
"In case of fatal accident, I beg of the spectators not to feel sorry for me. I am a poor man, an orphan since the age of eleven, and I have suffered much. Death holds no terror for me. This record attempt is my way of expressing myself. If the doctors can do no more for me, please bury me by the side of the road where I have fallen."

Motorpaced or not, he was pretty awesome IMO.
