Help me with my bars
Hi Guys-
I've decided I'd like some new drops. My current ones arent comfy enough when riding on the tops of the drops. I have no hoods on my set up and find them to be too short before they curve downward. I have a set of Nitto Noodles on another bike and find them to have plenty of room on the top of the drop. I like this more rounded shape- opposed to a modern compact. However I'm having trouble finding something similar with a 31.8 road diameter. Any suggestions here? By tops im not reffereing to the straight part next to the stem but rather where the bar extends forward before curving downward. I forget what thats called :foo: |
Are you opposed to running hoods? It's really the best way to get a comfortable hand position up there.

Ah, ramps. Yes I need bigger ramps.

Sounds like you may need a longer stem, not different bars.
|
Or hoods.

I don't like the idea or aesthetic of running hoods with a dummy lever.
|
Why not just use Noodles with a shim?
Let me guess...you don't like the idea or aesthetic of using a handlebar shim. |
31.8 Noodles seem like a no-brainer from a manufacturers standpoint. Why wouldn't Nitto make those?
|
3t sphinx? :innocent:

Not cheap, but these bars would fit the bill:
https://www.compasscycle.com/shop/co...18-handlebars/ If that's too dear, and shims aren't out of the question, Nitto B115s have a nice ramp on them. If all of my handlebars disappeared overnight, I'd replace them with Nitto B115s.

These look like 31.8 Noodles. Is that basically what they are?

Grand Cru Course Handlebar- Classic Round Bend - Handlebars - Components
This handle bar has LONG ramps. The longest perhaps. I have one on both of my road bikes because I have big hands and these are the most comfortable to me. not available with 31,8 though |

Was looking for the same thing as Wspsux. Didn't want to run hoods. Tried a few bars. Nothing had long enough ramps and was available in black. That bar from the compass site would work, but the price and the silver kind of turn me off.
