koster bracces

so my gf has an old coaster setup 700c rear, and i've been thinking about slapping it on my old frame.
the problem is, i don't know jack***** about coaster brakes. what are the quality vintage ones? what are the quality newer ones? how do they work? anything you've got will be helpful.
