Mich Primato vs Sugino 75? what makes the sugino better (aside from aestheics)

hey emayex, the link you posted goes to a dura-ace bb...
|
i know....i like the miche....but the dura ace hub is nice too...i know the mich is set up for track use...i dunno about the dura ace....the miche can be seen on biz cycles

wow i'm dumb! i don't think that's a track bb though, it's too short |
yeah i saw it said double...but it looks just like the dura ace track that biz cycles sells...isnt a shorter spindle a plus for track apps?
|
not necessarily, it's all about the chainline.
i think 109 - 111 is the sweerspot, depending on the hub. |
oh yeah? so you would vote against the primato? biz cycles says it is 107...
|
The Miche crankset needs a 107mm sindle with ISO tapers; the Sugino 75 a 109mm with (I think) JIS tapers.
|
Bottom Brackets don't come like they used to, like crank side longer than non crank side. Now evrything is even sided you need to pick which one is best for your chain line.
S/F, CEYA! Wow didn't see Dolface post. He hit it also! |
I'm trying to make the same decision.
fortunately for me. I've got both cranks sitting in my basement. |
Sugino.. Proven better..IMHO.
S/F< CEYA! |
in what way?
beside the non-standard BCD, and the weird BB requirements of the miche? |
I have ridden Sugino products to death and Miche used to have problem years ago minor ones. Their products were also hard to get also not able to relace damaged goods.

107-109 sounds like the perfect length, and I would assume that a shorter spindle would only be advantages because of the weight that you're saving - which is obviously minimal. If you're the choice is Primato vs. 75, I'd say primato. If it were Primato vs. Mighty Comp. then I'd say Sugino.

the sugino 75 bb is out of the question...too expensive....anybody have any suggestions for a 109 mm spindle BB to match a sugino 75 crankset?
|
Older Dura Ace (7200, 7600 and 7610-cartridge bearings), Hatta, Suntour Supurbe Pro and Superlap are all 109mm.
I think Shimano makes a cheap cartridge 109mm as well. |
