Question about Leader 725tr
Hi all, Im new to the forum and was looking for some advice/recommendations.
i currently ride a specialized tricross and am looking to pick up a relatively cheap fixie for commuting/fun.
there is a complete Leader 725tr for sale locally that i could purchase within my budget. all of the parts on it are Origin 8. the current owner isn't sure on the year of the frame, but i think its from around 2012-2014.
in my research on this forum, it seems like there are quality control problems and issues with the seat post on the newer frames. in the photos i've seen of the seat post clamp cracking the bikes have two clamping screws, whereas the bike I'm considering only has one.
from the pictures I've attached, can anyone tell what year the frame is and if it is one of the frames prone to problems? additionally, what is a set up like this worth?

So first off you only need to post one thread ONCE! If nobody responds then it wasn't meant to be. Secondly if you have read the forum there is no need for this question. You have already gleaned the information needed to make a more informed decision. If you still cannot make that decision clearly you should go back and read the threads again.

yeah, sorry about the double post. tried to edit/delete it when i realized.
I'm still trying to get all the information. i've read about the good/bad of the frames over the years, but I'm not sure exactly what year this one is.
theres threads where forum members have been able to spot subtle differences between bikes, so i was hoping to get more information on this one. just want to learn as much as possible before driving a few hours to look at it

Your cog is slipping.
That version's seat tube creaks. The version after that cracks.
I suppose a creak is better than a crack, but it's your money. Spend it however you'd like.

Does anybody here remember when this forum was just about the most rabidly pro-Leader place in the biking universe? And anybody who posted anything negative about Leaders got jumped on immediately by the chief Leader shill? And his squad would compete to make the cleverest putdown of an anti-Leader poster, hoping to get an attaboy from their "leader"?

I mean that fork is meant for a totally different frame with a smaller diameter headtube, probably a steel frame. That Leader frame is usually matched with a carbon fork that has a larger fork crown that matches that frame.

safe(ish) is not exactly safe. A poorly made frame by a company notorious for poorly made frames, bad customer service and other problems doesn't bode well. There are so many other cheap crappy fixed gear frames out there that I see no reason to go with a used Leader.
Imagine going to your local Ford dealer and them telling you "This Pinto is perfectly safe so long as nothing touches the bumper"

Edit. Now that I can see the photo you posted, I can see the thin flange at the top that matches the head tube, but it still looks fugly to me. Anyways, aluminum forks suck, and my VISP rode really harsh until I replaced its aluminum fork with a carbon one.

Yeah, the first version of the carbon I806TR looked just like the aluminum one. You've got the second version which is much better aesthetically.
