Crankset help!
 

I am really new here dont know if there is already something for this but. I was wondering if anyone could give me some recommendation on a new crankset!
I was in between
Sugino "COOL" messengers cause i already have 103mm bottom bracket
sram omnium
All city 612
Would be awesome if anyone could give me some guidance.
I commute daily anywhere from 10-20 miles a day and relatively flat area but do have some hills.

if you already for the right bb there's nothing wrong with sugino messengers imo, tough enough to hold up to daily riding no problem.

^^ Pretty much that. No need to spend any more on a commuter bike.

I noticed there is two different COOL messengers??? there is one that is all black that is supposed to be better than the one with different color chainring bolts?
Does anyone know if that is true??

not sure about the "cool" thing, but i'm pretty sure any sugino RD2 crankset will fit the bill. the differences will probably be negligible for commuting purposes.

Yeah its a newer messenger i guess! i saw it on suginos website, but there is also one out there that comes with sugino 103mm bb and looks different but says its better then the normal one.. idk if that is true... does anyone know?

I see they have the RD2BX listed but it all looks the same. Huh. Like everyone else said, RD2's are good cranks. I've been using mine for 2 years and they've been great.

The RD2 and Cool Messenger use the same style arms. The main difference between the two - aside from the chainring - is that the Cool Messenger's arms are forged the same way Sugino 75s are, making them stiffer and stronger than regular RD2 arms.

[MENTION=164476]Scrodzilla[/MENTION] Thanks for the insight! but i am curious too, I cant link it but bellsbikeshop on ebay sells the "cool" messenger that comes with a bb and does not have the multi color chainring bolts. I was thinking it would be a better choice cause its around the same price and u get sugino bb and not the multi color.. but that is like the only place i could find it.. I just do not want it to be a remade one like i have heard the pista is.. Let me know what u think

The version with the black bolts & included BB is how that crankset was originally offered in the US. Just buy it.
