skid friendly gumwalls?
I love gatorskins, great tires, but am on the hunt for some tanwalls that are skid friendly.
my best bet that I've found so far is Conti GP Classics, or it seems that at one point they sold the 4000's with a tan wall but can't find any for sale. |

GP Classics won't hold up to skidding.
Pasela PT are the best you're gonna get and even those won't last very long because the rubber is soft. |

In theory, Rivendell Ruffy Tuffy tires might work well. They have a kevlar belt, so the rubber is pretty heavy duty. But then you're spending a lot on nice tires to shred up, which doesn't make much sense to me.
As Scrod said, Pasela's may strike the balance between price/wear life. |
Paselas or wait till you've outgrown skidding and throw down some cash on some nicer tires.

No tires are skid friendly. Skidding is bad for your tires. If you're going to do it a lot, you might as well not waste your money on good tires.

Pro-level cars like those from Formula D have far too much horsepower and torque to run s*** tires. They have to be strong enough to last through a lap, wear even without breaking apart in chunks and have predictable traction throughout. |

I used to skid on paselas, the tire 'sploded and separated entirely from the side wall.

When I was younger I always wanted a fast looking car with a great audio system, with decals and logos, and whatnot.
Now that I'm older, I want the blandest looking car that will blend in with everything on the road and a big enough engine to zip around when needed. I like to speed and having a car that looks like everything else goes a long way in preventing speeding tickets. |
I have said it before and I will say it again: If you don't skid your undies, why would you skid your bike?
