best rear rack for small Kilo TT

Seems like it's been a while (years) since people have asked about racks for Kilo TTs, so here I am, asking, since I want to put a rear rack on my bike so I can commute with panniers (ideally Ortlieb Back-Rollers).

Kilos now come with dropout eyelets and seat stay bolts, which means that an ordinary rack should work, but I'm concerned about heel clearance, especially because my bike is small (47cm frame).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I had one on my Kilo for a while (I have a 44cm). Not sure of the brand rack, but most of them are pretty adjustable these days. I took it off as I use a pack almost exclusively now.

If you're really worried about heal clearance I'd suggest taking the Rivendell route. Look at getting a rear rack, and instead of going panniers go with a sackville saddle sack. They're pretty damn waterproof and in my opinion excellent looking. If you go with the Medium or the Large especially there is plenty of room for commuting. They come in a few colors, here is a link to the large Olive one

Another answer is the Swift Zeitgeist, but its not nearly as big.

You know, I never gave heal clearance a thought. I always used a trunk bag on the Kilo. That ain't no stretched frame like a touring bike, that's for sure!

Thanks for the non-pannier suggestions -- I hadn't thought of those!

I have a Planet Bike Eco Rack on my 54cm KTT, but yes, heel strike is an issue. I have a pannier bag for work that can't be more than a foot and a half in height and I have to push it all the way back.

I also have size 12 feet.
