fit issues...
 

i just have a general question about fit...or maybe not so much fit, but tube lengths in general...if i am 6' tall with a 32" inseam, would i be able to ride a 60cm bike? good deal, but sight unseen. last time i lucked out in this scenario, so i think i may try it again, but 60 may be a bit large for me...any off the cuff guesses? i know there is little help you can offer me, but i think 60 cm would be about a 23 and a half inch seat tube, no? is there a general guidline for this sort of thing? i guess i ask here because it is a track bike...no real other reason...

See if you can find the geometry on it... check the standover height. Make sure Big Jim and the twins are going to be safe from harm, ya know? It might be a 60cm with a short top tube, too... so you might be ok. You never know.

You are probably going to be a bit "crowded" when standing over the top tube.

if its 60 cm centre to top, you might be able to get away with it.
otherwise, its probably going to be too tall and too long.

I'm the same height with the same inseam. I ride a 56. With a track frame, you want it a size smaller than you usually would use for the road.

The theory being that the higher BB on the track bike will move the TT higher off the ground and therefore for clearance sake it is best to size the track bike smaller.

I personally don't buy into this. I size my frames based on when I'm on the bike, not when I'm standing over the TT.

For me it means the TT of my track bike is touching my pubic bone when I'm standing over it. So what. Once I'm on the bike, I have no issues. And the bike fits right.

I have a 32 inseam also, and have ridden frames as small as 54 (a tiny bit cramped for my taste) but a 56 fits me almost perfectly. Like JoseR, its how you feel while riding the frame thats the deal maker or breaker for me.
