Celeste- Is it for Bianchis only?
Just curious to see what you all think.

I believe they tradmark the particular color blend, if not at least the name. So maybe light turquoise for other kinds of bikes, but if they called it celeste, then the manufacturer could get in trouble...
|
absolutely.

Heh, Im pretty sure Celeste just means light blue, or more literally sky blue, in italian (and spanish, fwiw). |
Sorry, should have capitalized it...
|

I second this because the etymology is from Latin and it literally means celestial or of the heavens/heavenly, but yes, Bianchi calls that specific color "Celeste" |
You mean whether it is appropriate co-mingling with, say, a Huffy?
Imagine a Barney Dinosaur purple Vikings lid on an iconic, soothing classic gridiron 12-time world champion Green Bay Packers green and gold kit. Kind of makes you turn off your mind television. Now back to my sweet, sweet Old Milwaukee. |
Whatever, it's just a color. I'm going to strip my Celeste green Bianchi of its branding once I build it up anyway.
|
i dont know if celeste only belongs on bianchi's, but bianchi's should only come in celeste... a non-celeste bianchi is sacrilege

Yeti Cycles trademark colour is a s similar colour, except they call it or used to call it 'desert turquoise'. It's a heaps better colour than Bianchi's Celeste IMHO. It used to be more green than it currently is, perhaps to get away from Bianchi? I dunno.
Every season I always have a good laugh when they try and match a colour to that Celeste. First is was Yellow *blech* and now.....lime green??? |
Yes, black with celeste accents.
It seems to me the color has changed over the years, sometimes looking more green than blue. |

I think that it's kind of cheesy if another bike is Celeste, because it's THE Bianchi colour. It kinda reminds me of the fake Mini Cooper commercial, all those other cars had Mini paint jobs, but they weren't quite a Mini.
|
You mean you'd paint a bike celeste on purpose!? :D
Just kidding, I love my old celeste Bianchi. Only Bianchis should be celeste. We should do a poll... |
