Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Thanks Chicago & Under the Weather

The whole weekend was fantastic, every part of it. Thanks so much Chicago.

This was my bike while I wasn't repairing the second of what would be four flats for the day.

The very best part was when I won a big-ass Under the Weather bag at the post-alleycat raffle. Now I have something to thank Canada for. Sweet!

Looks like you got home - not late for your flight I hope. I was concerned that you might have trouble catching a cab at that hour.

Yeah! That bag rocks.

Lemme say thanks, too, since I got jrowe's bag's runt baby brother. Perfect, incidentally, for keeping a beer ready for quick deployment.

it's odd that the two kids who were most flat-ridden won the two bags. makes you wonder if there is such a thing as flat-karma. might try to get myself a pinch flat before getting my lottery ticket tomorrow.

on a side note, thanks again for a wonderful evening jeff. no... not that you filthy-minded dicks. this:

No more backpack for you, Jeffro Time for you to join the sweaty-backed masses.

So are there only four lanes in that entire place?

yup, that stroke of insane generosity was WAY out of line, jeff. you're a kind man, but you're due for a facepunch.

but seriously, thanks for that. and the bag looks hot.t.t.t.t.t.t

It's awesome how this thread has turned into a thank you fest for Jeff. I'll add my thanks too. If it weren't for jrowe, I wouldn't have been able to race because I was totally out of cash!

Jeff's da man.

Actually, all the people who stayed at mine were kind and generous, taking turns to foot the massive bills when we ate out. So, Judah, Galen and Jeff, a big ups on that front.

The Chicago people were the most generous of all by a good measure. Thanks again guys.

I had so much fun loading more and more and more stuff into the bag for my ride into work today.
