BB for Sugino Mighty Competition

I have a 70's Sugino Mighty Competition crankset currently mounted on a Campy Pista BB - 111mm. The chainline with this setup is around 44.5mm, which is 2.5 mm too for out. - I have Dura Ace hubs, which have standard 42mm chainline.

Questions:

1. If i want to be anal about it (which i will) i suppose i should run a 107mm ISO spindle length with the crankset. Does anyone know of good quality English threaded BB with 107mm ISO spindle?

2. Has anyone run this crankset on a Sugino 75 BB, (109.5mm ISO), and what chainline did you get? (i'd rather not use this, as it has loose ball bearings)

Any alternatives with sealed bearings?

Thanks!

Thank you - however it says on Sugino's website and in the installation pdf that it's a special taper, only for Sugino75 cranks. - Not compatible with either ISO or JIS.

can't post link as i don't have enough posts, but it's here: suginoltd dot co dot jp/us/products/bb/pdf/MA-BB_CBB-SG75(JP_EN)20160824.pdf

Stick around and post more and you will post all the links!

The Sugino 75 cranks and BBs are ISO compatible. I am sure they say that to sell more of their own BBs but plenty of people have used something like a Phil Wood ISO taper in the proper length.

Thanks - retro gression had a NOS MICHE Primato 107mm ISO so i ordered that - 107 ISO should technically be the correct length to achieve the perfect chainline. I will post the result after i install.

Also, I asked Track Supermarket about the Sugino75 with cartridge bearings - they say that although the specs say 109mm, it is in fact 111mm.

I don't worry about chainline, if the chain stays on and is relatively quiet, I am happy. Granted I have generally just gone with manufacturer recommendations or the closest thing to that or just go with a Hollowtech II style crank and not worry 'bout it.

I guess the Sealed 75 BB is a bit longer for bikes that aren't pure track bikes.

That worked. Perfect 42mm chain line with a 107mm ISO BB.
Thanks for chiming in.

Cool not sure why you quoted a old thread from last year but always good to spread useful info.

For a data point, I've been running Sugino 75 with Miche Pista BBs since 2012 on my good fix gear. 120 spacing, Miche track hubs. I never measured the chainline but chain is dead straight. I've put 18,000 miles on the cranks and am on the second BB. This is a road bike that sees all weather above freezing. If there was incompatibility between the two, you'd think I'd have seen it by now. (The Miche was recommended to me by POrtland's fix gear guru to run with the Sugino 75.)
