2019 Goals!
Bike related or not let’s hear ‘em!!
I’ll kick things off:
bicycle related:
-Get a ride in every day, short or long
-Build the sweet ‘86 rigid mtb I have
-Ride a velodrome
non bike related:
-Finish my harley chopper
-Lower my ‘95 Chevy Suburban
-Get another pup:
Texas blue lacy or another French bulldog

This Friday I'm retiring after 48 years of toil at my regional blood center. So 2019 is going to be amazing for me.
Bike related:
Re-start the bike recycle business I abandoned several years ago.
Ride more, drive less.
Other:
LSD Live Simple Daily
Listen to more music
PS....Texas Blue Lacy would be an awesome dog to get.

I want to get in better shape and finish up all my bike projects and sell a bunch of parts.
Outside of the bike I want to get my mental health in check and do some more camping.
Happy New Year!

Upgrade to cat 2 on the road - well on the way here as I've already earned some points and my fitness is great, on track to be better than ever
Switch focus to track and MTB after that
Learn Chopin's Nocturne # 19 Opus 72 no 1 and Debussy's Arabesque 1
Plan + manage expenses for my wedding late in the year
Begin saving big for children (2-3 years) and home ownership (3-5)
On that last note I'd like to mention that I made my FINAL student loan payment in December. Took me 8 years.
Woohoo!

kudos on the jazz guitar @klhada. I play jazz piano frequently with a guitar player, bass player and tenor sax. Trying to find the discipline to do more classical in 2019.

Cool @bonsai171! As time goes on I find myself similarly surprised with how many musical cyclists there are on BF.
The Fantasie Impromptu looks difficult! Good luck. I'm an elementary classical pianist and can play a few of the easier waltzes, mazurkas and preludes. In a fantasy life I wish I could play like Rubenstein - the best Chopin pianist of all time IMO.

- Wear out my current chainring, which is when I'll allow myself to buy a new crank
- Get a new crank
- Do at least one 200km ride before the year runs out

Reminds me, I'd like to ride a FG century at some point later on. Maybe in the summer.

It's cliché but I'm going to gym again. I just started a new job at public at the start of 2019 and also moved into a new place. I've been out of the gym for over a year now and gained close to 30lbs that I would like to get rid of and will get rid of. Also I want to ride more. More fun cruises and more longer rides. Also to buy upgrades (wheels, cranks, chainring, seat, bars, cycling clothes I.e. bibs, jerseys, rain gear). Also just do more fun shtuff.

Ride the full El Tour de Tucson. This is my 50th anniversary year, so I figure riding my first century is a fine way to give a nod to my unexpectedly long tale of debauchery, destruction, and redemption.
(...gonna go ahead and bring some derailleurs on that ride.)

To ride for fun when I feel like it, and not feel bad about not riding when I don't feel like it. (off to a good start)
Read more books.
Finish (and hopefully sell) more paintings.

Bike to work every day, rain or shine, unless I'm sick, injured, or running super late.
Find a wound up seatpost for a reasonable price and snag it.
Finally start learning more than basic phrases in Chinese so I can communicate with my wife's family.
Save up some money before med school starts in the fall.
...either that or blow it on a wabi special frame .
Beat some of the video games that have bought and never finished.
Fully finish at least one track instead of dicking around in ableton and jamming on a synth for 3 hours with nothing to show for it.
