Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Why though? It seems to me that Critical Mass is more about getting in traffic's way than about solving any real transportation issues. I mean, if we were really serious about it shouldn't we just move to the suburbs or the sticks and just start biking there? I'm just a little confused as to what the real purpose of Critical Mass is. I mean, I've seen the website and it looks kinda cool, but if it's just some amoeba like organization with no real goal or agend, how's it gonna work? Do you guys ever focus on safety? Why don't you tell the hundreds of cyclists in Boston to wear a helmet or something. If I had a dollar for every courier, commuter and college student who wasn't wearing a helmet I wouldn't be at home ranting on this forum at 11:00 o'clock at night. Right?
