Front clearance 32-622
hey!
did register so i could ask the mighty internet for some advice. issue... i am based in germany. changed tires from 25mm to 32mm. it does of course not fit my old carbon fork. looking around for a replacement. cant find anything other than cromoly or hi-ten ones. i'd like getting an alloy (or carbon) but might do with surly or any other monstrosity. did try some carbon forks but clearance is always the issue heightwise! drill for road brake (needed) 1 1/8" shaft (no adaptors) 100mm vertical drop outs blades not too long :-) 130usd max europe any suggestions?! cheers |
meh. cant post pics or links :(

If you are a D.I.Y.'er, shims can be added to increase tire clearance on your original fork. Not an ideal or elegant solution, but cheap and it works.

too tight a fit. droupouts would hardly catch the hub and required shims being 7mm irl. ;)
32 to 28(/25) is kinda a lot unfortunately but yeah. happy it did work for you! |
quick update:
looking into winter forks (guard eyelets) right now seems to be the way to move |
