Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

So Beryl Burton never rode PBP on a fix gear? (I do not know if she ever rode PBP. If she did, I wouldn't expect to see any record of her drive train choice. Fix gear use for time trials in England at the time was common and not note worthy.)

Not finding her in the results for any year: PBP 2015 Time Results She would have crushed it in her prime.
