All Black Rims

Anyone know where I can get all black rims? Everything seems to have a silver brake surface. Getting started on my new wheelset - Silver fixed/fixed surly's, black spokes, and hopefully all black rims.

Alex DV-15's come in non-machined.

Velocity Aeroheads - non-machined.

At various times, deep v's have come in non-machined but those are scarce.

I've got the non-machined Alex DV15s - they look pretty sweet, but I've only been riding them today and don't know how sturdy they are yet.

Question - why Silver Surlys and not the black ones?

I got Alex TD-17's - they are disc rims so not only are they unmachined, they have a really nice curve to the whole rim. A little wide, 23-25 is probably the narrowest you can run (25 is comfy for me) but it doesn't bother me any. Plus the price is nice, generally 20-22 each.

I didn't have any trouble getting flat black, non-machined Deep V rims for two seperate wheel builds I had done recently. Of course, Velocity did the build in both instances.

I think the chrome hubs and nipples would look good with the chrome seatpost and bars. RyanC, did you get your rims local?

i had those built with formula hub's and rode them for about a year without any issues at all.

Just another suggestion since I think they're damn sexy, and they're on my wheelset: Mavic Open Pro CD if you can find 'em. I scored a good deal on EBay.

Yeah I keep meaning to get out there, though I'm not sure what the point would be w/ my 70" gear.

That's a hot bike. Very nice. I like the pure black Deep Vs. I think I'll do mine that way with some XE14 spokes.

The only thinng cooler are those Campagnolo Pista rims (38mm) based on the Shamals.
