Yesterday afternoon, at the wrap up of a stellar 45 mile ride on the local rails to trails. Weather is perfect, breezy, cool, clear.
I'm about to go to a titanium bottom bracket, a new stem and bars, some other lighter parts. This Wabi is a blast to ride!

Happy springtime Singlespeed Sunday!
Got in 20 miles this morning. The rails-to-trails path next to my house is finally all clear of snow, and that certainly came in handy this morning. It's a beautiful day but the wind is whipping pretty good out of the South. Thankfully I was able to use the tree-lined bike path to hide from it a little bit!
The county conservation district has a bit of spring cleaning to do still
This was one of three trees fallen across the path in 6 miles or so!

Bringing home the meth ❄️
Winter is back, just above freezing, did an hour, about 10 kms, just to bring home some alcohol for the trangia stove.

Looking forward to packing this bike away for the summer and getting my lighter, new-to-me, ss on the road.

I rode my Wabi Classic on an 8-miler around my area of town. Beautiful day except for the crazy high pollen count.

Just over 17 miles around local lanes and villages, including 4 short sections of off road. Barely any wind, bright sunshine: the first time this year I've worn shorts and short sleeves on a ride.
Very pleasant ride. Never put my foot to ground from start to finish, never touched the brakes, and I maxed out at just over 28 mph (over a 0.1 mile segment) on a downhill. That's on 42 x 18.

Getting out at dawn, I had a great North Fl ride yesterday. I rode the St Johns county trail from Vermont Heights to the East Palatka side of the 65' ft fixed bridge. Did a repeat climb and then went along the St Johns River, across the railroad tracks and up the 1/2 mile hill to Ravine Gardens. Back at my car by 10 I escaped most of the serious heat that was coming on. Riding Palatka's South Historic District can be interesting and there are a few places to stop to eat or just look over the River.

while you guys are riding the beautiful trails, I'm riding under the I 10 bridge. the Neches river is past flood stage. There were 10-15 tent people encamped there and I bring them beer and crackers in exchange for their life stories. The coastal rain has caused the area to flood their tent city and they were all gone to wherever the homeless go. the gravel road was under water so I turned back rather than try and SURLY through .............. discretion won out because I just recovered from a bad shoulder break in Dec.

Steamrolled down under the I10 bridge to see if any of the homeless guys had resurrected but the place was deserted except fo a black lady camped by the old sofa ... she rolled her shopping cart down aways when I showed so I blew some smoke and road away ... it was so hot today that even the BMXrs were not at the rock piles

STEAMROLLERED to take a look at what's left of the largest church in town, abandoned because no-one wants to drive all the way to a dead downtown area on a sunday AM even if it is to talk to Jesus

I ride my cheapo Kent Thruster Fixie single speed every day. It's stock, and I"ve had it for about seven years now. I wore out the OEM goofy colored tires, and put better ones on it that are black. Replaced the brake pads and cleaned, inspected, and repacked both wheel hubs. I'm old with health problems, but do a 2.5 mile timed circuit every morning, in my attempt to build myself back up. Lots of hills on my route, and it"s a good exercise for me, and it's fun and I look forward to it. Thinking of getting a bike with some gears to extend my distances.
Here"s a pic of the model I have. Mines got good, black 700C tires, a seat post rack and handlebar mounted bottle cage. I also have to carry an extendable baton for last ditch dog protection. Bike weighs about 31 pounds with these add-ons. This us not my bike, but the same model.
Simple, easy to work on, fun to ride.
