How to bend spring in dual caliper break

Hello everyone,

I'm in the final stages of my single speed maintenance and for the life of me can't bend/position the spring into place on the dual caliper break - it's really really strong and I can't bend it enough

Ant suggestions? Really appreciate any help.

DO WEAR EYE PROTECTION!
Ideally slip a length of tubing over it to increase your leverage.
I can't tell, is there enough room to grab it with a adjustable wrench?

Although you may get some good answers on this forum, a better place to post questions like this is the Bicycle Mechanics forum.

Some people just love messing with stuff that doesn't need to be messed with.

Why you would ever feel the need to remove that spring in the first place when doing "maintenance" is beyond me.

It will be easier to disassemble the caliper, set the spring in it's proper place and tighten everything back down. Should be a 5 minute job.
