I'm going to Lopez this weekend! :D Camping w/the bikes and lots of local wine and bakery goodness. I'm thinking of bringing a kiddy raft to float in the water (hopefully not out into tanker traffic).

Well, it's rides like this that make me fond of gears.

My turf too. Sure, it's a nice looking bridge but I hate riding it. I could learn to love it I suppose.... right after the next earthquake when it's a pile of twisted steel and concrete at the bottom of the shipping canal (oh jeez, I've done it now 8-) Seriously though, the bike lanes are too narrow and there's nothing to separate you from the angry speeding traffic but am 8" curb.

BTW, you're in Ballard? Do you ride a brown Steamroller per chance? I've seen a woman riding fast fast many mornings while I'm out walking my dog.....Is that you?

Oh bloody now you've gone and cursed my commute. As long as the salmons get out of the way before it falls! We must protect our salmons. Don't worry about the cars blazing next to you - turn your head to the right either way and enjoy the views! I hardly know there are cars around cuz I'm always checking out the waterway or mnts. Or yelling at a drunk deckhand to get out of my way.

I live over by Fisherman's Terminal. No Surly here. I have my pink Bridgestone. Haven't seen the one you describe.

Ooops, don't mean to curse anything .... sorry. You are right, the view from the bridge is really nice. Bridgestones are very cool.

As a fellow brown surly owner, I've wanted to say hello to that women but one second she's there and the next ....bang....she's gone. Quite impressive.

I didn't see it mentioned here, so i gotta add that discovery park over in magnolia has some awesome hills.. There are also a decent amount of old military roads that are closed to cars...
