[QUOTE=SkinGriz;22230162]I’m pretty sure HD makes more money on swag than they do on motorcycles.
/QUOTE] ... once upon a time in Tulsa Matt gave me a Wabi T shirt ... I like to wear it when Im steamrolling the urban wastelands

State of the Industry and Inventory
It's a crazy time here in the bike industry. The pandemic created high demand for bikes and parts, which then led to long delays getting new inventory. There’s a huge backlog in the bike industry supply chain - materials shortages, fabrication limitations and shipping bottlenecks. Like everyone, we are working through the challenges and providing what we can, but it will take some time to get back to normal.
Complete Build and Frameset Inventory Status
While we were able to offer bikes earlier this year, we'll now be hitting delays over the next year. Below is our best guess for availability. However, we are currently dealing with very limited overseas shipping capacity and incredibly high freight costs (7-10X the norm). It means that all timing is tentative and we'll have to have some small price increases to help cover these costs.
Classics: We have a new shipment coming in November. For colors, we are bringing back the popular Sable Green as well as a lighter color, Cloud Gray (see image below). We’ll take pre-orders in October. Be sure to sign up for back in stock notifications on the Classic product page for pre-order and in-stock updates.Specials: We expect more by early 2022. The next batch will include a dark gray and metallic green.
Thunders: We should have more by early 2022. Colors are still being determined.
Lightnings: We were hoping to have them by the end of the year, but there have been shortages and delays of the Columbus tubing (pandemic in Italy as well as the acquisition of the parent company). Timing is up in the air at the mom
>>>> used bike market will be blossoming

Light higher end tubeset, 120mm spacing, road specific geometry, two bottle cage braze ons for people who actually go on long road rides and not just fly around city streets weaving in and out of traffic with tennis shoes, green chains, pink grips on the flat bars and no brakes. Who else is making that in a similar price range?

You could get an old race bike with horizontal dropouts and build something similar to a classic without the track-ends. You could also try to find a carbon fork to build something similar to a lightening. There wasn't a lot of overlap between two bottle mounts and horizontal drop-outs, so you'd be looking at a pretty narrow late-80's, early-90's window. They're out there, but you might have to be patient to find the right one in the right size at the right price. Add a couple of bling parts, and you could easily spend much more than you would on a wabi complete. A friend of mine rides a Gunnar with track-ends and S&S couplers which is arguably a nicer FG road bike than the wabi, but it was a also a lot more expensive. Another friend of mine had an old race bike set up fixed and replaced it with a wabi complete last season.

Drama?
This whole Zach Gallardo Wabi thing sounds like a bunch of drama in the FS/SS community at the moment on all forums and websites related to the topic. Can anyone explain me how this whole thing started?

They're taking pre-orders for the Classic today, check out their FB. I think I'm going to finally buy a Thunder when/if they come in this winter.

I am to blame on this Wabi following. You see, I love Wabi! I am not not the high priest of Wabi. (I only follow Jesus.) If you don't understand Wabi, ride one and you'll understand.

I ride mine long distances also and the geometry and steel tubes make riding a joy.

I'd be willing to ship continental US via my LBS who has shipped bikes for me in the past.

Just wanted to throw a comment down here as a Wabi loyalist. I rode a previously owned Classic for years and now I ride a Thunder that I bought new last year. I put thousands of miles on both, have done 100 mile rides on both and both bikes have been phenomenal on their (mostly) original components. For the money, I agree, they can’t be beat. I also agree with the desire for stainless track ends! My dropouts are definitely chewed up a bit..
also, I own and wear a gray Wabi hat… and I only use Wabi issued toothpaste.
Shoot, maybe it is a cult and I just never saw it before?
