I Bought A Wabi

Today, I bought a used Wabi from E-bay. I couldn't be more happier. Now it's official, I'm part of the Wabi Cult.:speedy:

Congrats! I’m on the hunt for a Wabi special, myself, so if anyone knows someone…

It wouldn't be here until the end of the month. The LBS has to disassemble it and pack it up. This all takes awhile. Shop are getting busy about now. My bike has to take a number. Dang, I wish I could have it now.

Yes, Zack is our High Priest of Wabi. Should we have a offering to God to thank him for my Wabi? :popcorn

I can't help but wonder if you really know anything about the brand you, maybe ironically or maybe not, pledge your fealty to when you bow to a Johnny-come-lately spokesmodel instead of the founder who actually deserves your praise :50:

Hear that Zach?

He called you a spokesMODEL!

Hope your blushing;-)

Question # 12 & 15

When did Wabi first hit the market? Anyone know? Are the first models any different then current models? And when did Zack come into the picture?

Wabi Cycles was founded by Richard Snook in 2009. The original Classic is very similar to the current model. The original Lightning model featured an aluminum frame, which has been replaced with a steel frame in the current model. The newer Special and Thunder models are also unchanged since their introduction. As to Zach (not Zack) Gallardo, he joined up with Wabi when it changed ownership for the second time and moved to Colorado in 2019. Anyway, the character of Wabi was forged by its founder, Richard Snook, and the current owners are simply carrying his legacy forward.

Unfortunately, they don't make those in a 42cm frame, 650c wheel size. :(

Anyway, it's a moot point since they are now sold out of those.
