I like the flat fork crown on the Stratos. Lots of nice little details on that frame set. And the paint is unique. Nice stuff.

geomiko My panties done got soiled from yer purdy lookin' bike with that there purple Sooo-Gino cranks and those sparkley tubes.

I need to take new photos of my babies for 2023 and ride them this year. However a new project might be in the works so hopefully I can post that when I get a chance.

First ride on my fixed gear this year. Nice easy spin to loosen up my legs from yesterday’s 3 hour road ride.

A very nice gentleman made a comment about my bike and bag, and we ended up riding together for almost an hour just chatting away.

Nice day on the bike for sure.

Saw one of these frames the other day - Quite striking in person - what do you think about the low spoke count wheels - any notable trade offs?

I've never had any problems with properly built low spoke count wheels, but I weight less than 140 lbs. I've been semi rough with that bike riding off curbs, though potholes, on dirt or gravel roads etc w/o any problems. Low spoke count wheels are fine if the rims are at least 25mm deep to provide the necessary stiffness and strength to span the distance between spokes. There is a noticeable reduction in wind resistance from the spinning wheel with fewer spokes. The downside is that if you happen to break a spoke, the wheel will go badly out of true or even collapse, but I've never had this happen to me.

Im 155 at the moment and have been riding Mavic Ellipse which has a 20/20 spoke count and a 30mm rim height for the last 16 years without issue - even when my weight went up to 185 but lately I've been thinking about trying a new wheelset - maybe something with wider rims - either pre built or picking components and I've been second guessing myself because almost all the available wheelsets on offer are 32 spoke...

Frame is a 1977 Schwinn Super Le Tour 12.2.

FWIW my road bike wheels are built with 20/28 Archetypes and they have been rock solid, even on fast rough descents. And I'm around 200lbs.

One new thing, though: I finally ditched the cheapo FoxEye headlight because its standlight capacitor had died, and upgraded to a B&M Eyc. Wish I'd done this years ago!

Do you have any issues with the rear wheel slipping in the chromed track ends?

Seems like every week or so I need to make a little adjustment for chain tension, although there are some depressions on the inside of the dropouts that I have a suspicion the hub locknuts are just migrating their way to...
