The OEM seat on my Roll2 is starting to look worn and has a few tears at the butt corner.
I like the look of the rivets and while another white seat will keep it looking original I'm open to suggestions re colour.
What's your opinion on a B17? Eg. Is it the right seat for my bike setup. I understand these Brooks seats take a while to break in (~500miles?) and costly but will probably be the last one I buy.
So what say you fine folks.......

The white saddle looks great on your rig.
You can find Selle San Marco Rolls saddles in white on eBay all day long.
Typically about $100 or so and way more comfy than any Brooks.

I hear Recaro makes great seats for a lot of applications for a bike I would go for a saddle and for me personally I would go Brooks Cambium C17 for my checks but in the end none of that matters it is all about what you find comfortable.

If you liked your current saddle the Soma Okami saddle is pretty close to it I had a Ta-Bo from them which of course it a Selle Italia Turbo clone because at the time I wanted a direct replacement for the old Turbo saddle on a vintage bike that I could ride as this saddle was a limited edition from what I understand and didn't want to further ride it.

I've been searching....so many choices out there!
I really like the Soma Okami Lite and the copper rivets add a nice touch, but doesn't appear to be available in white.
Probably go with another white seat......

It used to be available in white I would reach out to Soma/Merry Sales Co and see if they might have one or know if any shops might have one still?

See if you can get a loaner from a shop to try out.
Aside from that, I would highly recommend the Brooks Cambium saddles; no break-in period, no anxiety over getting them wet, no regular treatment with proofide or whatever else to soften/preserve the leather. I love my leather Brooks saddles; I have a B17, B67, and old version Conquest; that said, if it's your first Brooks, get a Cambium and just ride without the extra accoutrements, rituals, and anxiety. Take my opinion with a grain of salt though.
Go try out as many as you can. Friends' bikes, shop bikes, shop loaner saddles, whatever you can do to actually sit on one for more than a couple minutes. Your physiology is different than mine and every other person's, so you are only going to fit a saddle that works for YOU, not me, not anyone else out there.

Brooks does make a pre-broken in seat. They are hard to find. I have a B-17 that was (right out of the box) super nice. It felt like I had a few thousand miles on it!

Fhilfo....I like the low maintenance Cambium and it's available in light grey. Might look ok on my bike.

Yes, Brooks does offer what they call "softened" saddles. I also ride Brooks leather and have Three bikes with B-17 and one with a Brooks Professional. I also have a Conquest that I've not ridden yet. Bought it for a song many years ago. I think I might put it on my SS 29er at some point in the future just to see how it feels. It is a sprung saddle, but it doesn't look hideous.

I'll echo the recommendation that you look at the C-17. They look great and most all of the reviews are positive.

I have a Brooks Pro, which is similar to the B-17 but with laces and a center cutout. I like it, but I had to fuss around a lot making fine adjustments before I got it dialed in just right. I don't like taking it out in the rain. I have a cover that slips on, and I treat it with proof hide, but I prefer products I don't have to think about. I will say that if I had only one bike and put lots of miles on it, I'd probably use a Brooks.

I also have a Brooks C-15 on another bike. It is not very comfortable to me and probably never will be. It's fine for rides up to an hour or so. After that, I start wanting to get off.

My favorite seats are a few models from Fabric. They're the only ones I've ever tried that are comfortable from day one.

By all means, if adding 5+ ounces over a Rolls Titanio does not bother you.
Or you can go the Fizik Arione route (outfitted on all my bikes) to save half a pound over the Cambium.

Totally agree. Charge/Fabric saddles are excellent values, and fit me well also. And pretty durable for what they are. Wonderfully designed.

On that bike a Brooks Swallow would pretty cool. Since you're sitting on it and it won't really be seen when riding, I'd say a black one. A Swallow will break in a "little" faster than a B17 or Brooks Pro. I have a Swallow on my Wabi Special.

^^^^nice saddle.....but I can't justify the added cost vs a B17.

So far, the Brooks Cambium C19 Carved is in the top running @ $132CDN even with the weight penalty. Unfortunately, haven't found one in white.

Yeah, I just put a Cambium on one of my single speeds. Otherwise would go with a Pro. Though I've had a couple of B17's which work as well as you hear.
