if you wear one ofcourse
do they make any that don't look all dopey?
most of helmets i've seen are ugly. i know a helmet shouldn't be a fashion accessory but i don't want to ride around looking silly all the time

I think all bike helmets look a little dopey, but I think my helmet (bell metro) is bearable; it's low profile and doesn't look like a space ship.

The cheapest one I could find.
I need a new one though, and now that I've got a bit of money I may splurge for one that looks like an alien sitting on my head. Either that or a ProTec skate/bmx helmet, I have a friend who succesfully kicked two dudes asses while being drunk off of his with one of those...

giro eclipse
its not a half-melon like most cheapo helmets, but i'd still like to switch it for...
bell alchera, giro pneumo, giro atmos, catlike kompakt 2, etc.. these are a few that look good

Giro Xen. I like it.
You'll look more silly in a persistent vegetative state.
Do yourself a favor and get the helmet.

Giro Atlas. It's toward the low end (but top of the bottom!) and as I've said before, makes for a definitely phallic profile. I'd like to get a different one with a better fit system (this is a one-size-fits-all offering) but I'm afraid of dropping big coin on something that also looks stupid.

i stick to the mid-range giro's or bell's with a step-above 'one-size-fits-all' fit systems...$they fit well, have decent ventilation, but don't cost so much that if i eat sh*t i can afford a new one.

I wear a Bell Ukon helmet. Inexpensive, good fit, and does the job well.

Specialized Decibel. Expensive as all f*ck (got mine on sale, though), but light, cool, and it looks good and fits perfectly.
