In my case, it was chainring bolts (twice). I tightened them (twice) finding one which maxed out and needed to be replaced. It is quiet since then. I also skip/skid less recently, after I have learnt how to do it.

Check this reply to another thread. Sometimes a clicking noise from the bottom bracket area is caused by a clamp-on front derailleur.

hey, I'm pretty sure that this problem has been resolved for a looooong time now. Check the dates before you revive a dead issue. :)

When I got my conversion, I couldn't get the pedals off to save my life. I removed the crank arms... took the chain ring off of the appropriate side identified which way would loosen each pedal sat on the floor put the crank arm under my shoe and the wrench on the pedal having the "loosey" way be towards me torqued the crap out of it pedal was off in 2 minutes Just try not to punch yourself in the face! |
MKS pedal dust cap removal
How do i remove the dust cap on the these mks pedals. I would like to repack them.
thanks http://www.benscycle.net/images/larg...pedals_LRG.jpg |
If you are riding clips/straps, check the screws/bolts that tighten the toeclip to the pedal. I had a clicking noise and I pulled off my toeclips, regreased the threads of the bolts, and tightened them back on really well. Problem solved.

p.s. Sorry, I didn't read the dates before posting... as for psychosaif's question, I think they make a really cheap tool for removing those (like $2-$5). Just ask at the LBS.

Pedal just one side by itself and listen, then pedal the other side by itself and listen (make sure you put some load on the cranks). If it still creaks, it's definitely the BB (unless you have two noisy pedals - highly doubtful tho). |
